Pomp & Circumstance
Well, I finally graduated from High School. (Notice I spelled it right this time.) Now I can collect TV's and Vacuum Cleaners full time with nothing else to get in the way!

Congratulations! I am also a HS grad this year. If I recall correctly, you're planning to move this summer. I wish you the best.

Oh, but you still "Wet Behind the Ears "Young'Uns..." I graduated Ice Kewl in 1975.. Next day, I went in the Horse Pistol & had my wisdom teeth took out. I also recall graduation day Sunday, a nasty front rolled thru, & I had one of those Gawdawful "Get-Better to DIE" headaches..

Thanks for the congradulations, everybody. Yep, it stormed pretty hard here today too. Shortly before I walked out, a huge thunderclap sounded. It would have been super cool if a thunderclap sounded right when they called my name, but alas, it was not so.

I WILL say this-You would have to work hard to find a prettier place to grow up Than Chattamaboogie. Summers are best avoided, for the unreal heat & humidity, but a pretty fall day is hard to beat.A buddy of mine had an MGB, & I remember one Sunday in late Jan/early Feb, we got it out, put the top down, & did the Grand Tour of Lookout & Signal Mtns, the "W" road, Lulu lake& just generally had an Extremely Large Wonderful time. There are SO many places to explore & check out around Nooga, it ain't even funny. That was in '75, they had finally got their chronic air pollution pretty well whooped.

Congrats!
I got my High School diploma in the mail....I was home-schooled trough most of High School, and despite spending half a year full time at the local screwl, and a year and a half part time (mix of their classes and home-school) I was not welcome to their rain-deer games... I did get to attend my College graduation, though....It was in an underground bunker in the sports building. We fed into the IIRC hockey auditorium from the parking garage (had to wait fro group que)....Given the down hill of that garage floor and everyone dressed basically the same with some differences in decoration it kinda felt like what I imagine being a paratrooper standing on the back of a planes loading ramp at 30k ft waiting to be told "jump!" must feel like. Titan1a, while I would not encourage someone to join the military I also would not discourage them either. While it is a hard and dangerous occupation it is also a necessary and noble one. Those that choose to defend our freedom deserve our utmost respect. (no matter what the clown politicians that direct them at any given time, order them to do.)

Congratulations on the diploma!
I hope it's just one of many successes you have in life. Maybe a degree in electronics to follow? How timely - had dinner with an Air Force guy and his wife - both are getting out - they can't stand it. I find it funny - I did 22 years in the Navy, and loved every minute of it, except the first two weeks of basic. Once I learned it would not kill me, it became fun. My service yielded tons of friends (7 from basic, and many more through my travels) and lots of places visited. Like others though, I don't encourage or discourage anyone from joining. Just have a plan, I say....choose your rate, choose your fate...
