Home Depot Roundie

I've been noticing a Home Depot ad on television that shows what looks like a roundie during the first few seconds of the ad. Only a third of the CRT mask can be seen, and I'm pretty sure it's a roundie. Judging by the controls, it looks like it may be a Silvertone... perhaps 1966... or maybe a Zenith. It's hard to tell because the scene is seen just for a moment. I had seen the ad at least 3 times before I realized it looked like a roundie.

The set is seen in a pile of trash outside where they're also throwing away tools... and the idea is to head to HD for new stuff.

Certainly hope no roundies were harmed in the making of this ad!

GAds... I haven't seen this ad... Don't make me hate my favorite store!

I have a commercial account... Should I threaten to cancel if they harmed an old TV? You should send me a screen shot, and I'll bitch them out just for laughs!

I've been seeing two HD ads lately... the one where the guy's wife backs the van over his tools... and also this one with the TV outside in a pile of trash. It's kinda hard to spot it at first since you see it only for a moment and you can only see about a third of the set, but I'm pretty sure it's a roundie mask. Getting a picture would be hard unless you were recording at the time it played.

I kinda wonder where they got it for the ad... I would assume it's just a prop, but you never know... it could be an actual working set that someone let them use for the ad.

Thanks, Steve, for comfirming that. My first guess was it's a Silvertone, but I wasn't sure. It's kinda cool that Home Depot used the roundie in their ad, but would have been better had they shown more of it.

I just saw the one where they back-over the tool box, so maybe the other is coming soon.
