Roundie Monitor on Match Game
I've been watching the old Match Game show from the 70's on DVD, in this episode aired Sept 79 they turn the camera around on the crew and you can clearly see what looks to be a 21" roundie monitor.
The image displayed on it seems to be in B&W however. There also appear to be cans of oil on the desk in front of the crew, maybe to lube the sticky machinery that always seemed to give Gene Rayburn trouble? Last edited by Eric H; 01-05-2007 at 02:14 PM. |

At least one of the Match Game clips on YouTube shows this monitor. It's just to the right of the celebrity panel, screen facing the direction of the contestants. In the screen cap above I would guess the camera just happens to be on a subject where there's little color to be perceived.

Agree with David. Looks to be a Conrac or RCA 21" roundie color monitor with a color image on it. The "oil" cans actually contain ink to refill the large felt tipped marking pens used to write the cue cards.

Yeah, that's what it is. I had to take a closer look to see it. Had to take an even closer look to see any color in it, but it's there.
