Plugs or cable needed

I need a cable to connect an external VFO to a Kenwood TS-820S. Alternatively, a pair of 9-pin plugs, same as a standard tube plug.

Anyone have such in junkbox?

Try these people

If you haven't already, try the Kenwood reflector at QTH.net. There's a lot more traffic on the QTH groups than here and the expertise will be more specific. Someone may have what you need or know a source. Sometimes someone says, "Hey I've got a box full of those. How many do you need?"

Sorry if you already know this but here's how:

Go to QTH.net

Select "Email Mailing Lists" from the menu on the left

Select "Directory of Lists" ditto

Select "Kenwood" from the list and follow directions.

If you're not familiar with email reflectors, all of the activity is "reflected" to the email address you registered rather than logging in to a forum.

I had a similar problem in the 90's. I had the cable but it was mostly disconnected from one end and I didn't have any luck soldering to the little buttons on the plug. I found plugs with real solder lugs at a hamfest but never got around to fixing the cable and passed them along to the guy I sold it to.

Good luck,

I see we've been there

I see I gave you the QTH info back in the S-20R thread.

Sorry, I've slept since then.

Bob, I've got 4 in very good (used) condition - they have different colored covers - one white, one blue, one pea green, and one kelly green. PM me if you still need these. - yours for postage. Just to be clear, these are 9-pin male plugs with the same base as a 9-pin miniature tube, like a 12AX7.

Cheers,

Bob, the Postman got them this morning - postal service tracking # 9101150134711599893506. A whopping 1.92 to mail. Hope they work for you/your friend!

Cheers,

Brian, that's great! Give me your address and I'll have some gold bricks turned into cash and mail the money to you. Or more precisely, I will have Bob mail it to you.
