Captain, the tricorder reads a foreign object

How cool is this thing, Fresh out of the Motorola Design Studios is the X40E All Transistor Radio. I never thought of Motorola as a transistor radio company and I can't see the circuit board to see where it's made. The unit is roughly 7" x 5" and has some weight to it, much more than most small radios. If you can't tell the the top cover swivels down to cover the radio dial, just like the tricorder. The question is what came first the TV show or the radio, and what's the button on the speaker grill for?

Good one, Mark. Wish I'd thought of that.
