Doll house CBS field sequential color TV?
Here’s something that I found for sale at the PartStore.com. Recognize it?
Hint: It’s not from CBS and it’s not for a doll house. Roger |

I don't have an answer for the variety of colors on the wheel. Anyone?
The wheel is for a Samsung DLP and for $84 you could get a good start on a doll house TV color converter via color wheel. Roger |

The extra (secondary) colors would be used along with some sophisticated signal processing to expand the color gamut. There are other wheels/ DLP sets that use a light green and a dark green and perhaps a light and dark red to expand the dynamic range in the shadows.

Interesting how the whole sequential field color system came back thanks to high speed motors and controllers. Color wheels generating each desired color and moving mirrors to project it on the screen. Very similar to a CRT generating images of light and a color wheel coloring the light. The CBS system in an improved form.
The next generation (which is also now gone) was three colored light sources (LEDS) turning on and off in a locked sequence and moving mirrors turning on and off each point of light. Very similar to a tri gun crt.... The RCA system? I wonder what is next? |
