Cool 21 inch RCA

RCA brought back the 21 inch color set in the early 1970,s I remember buying one in Lagrange, Illinois. Of all places at a tire store. It was the Cosmos series around 1971. It was not a roundie.

Yes... I think those used the CTC-31 chassis, and a 22JP22 CRT. (21" viewable). Nice size set, and most of the ones I saw were in metal table model cabinets.

I always thought it odd, but back then tire stores (Firestone, Goodyear) always seemed to have plenty of appliances,
TV's and stereos for sale.

Even had thier own brands like Truetone at Western Auto.

There was a store when I lived in Denton, TX called Whites. I think there was a store brand there also.

My uncle bought his $299 Philco roundie at the Goodyear service store in downtown Milwaukee.
I don't think there was a Goodyear TV, but there was Goodyear radios. I think
they quit selling radios, with their name, way early.
Later they sold Westinghouse and later Philco.

Sony sold 21-inch sets in the late 1970s and early to mid 80s too.
