Now this is interesting... I wonder where these came from. If these posters are correct, it would seem that Motorola was trying to stretch out the TS905 chassis for a good while.

It's interesting to note that the Moto in the poster is not the same as the remaining survivors. This set shows a speaker grill area below the CRT, while the sets we know of have the speaker on the side of the cabinet. It makes me wonder if they were going to try this bigger cabinet for 1958... since the shorter cabinet with long legs is what we know was available in 57.

They were still trying to move 19CXX sets in '56, so....

It's just interesting that no other variant of the 21CT2 has surfaced. So far, we only know the the 21CT2M (mahogany) and if I'm not mistaken, the 21CT2B (blonde). These two models have the long legs. So far, I've never seen anything covering a model in 1958 featuring a tall cabinet with short stubby legs.

So, the model shown in this poster is something that either has never surfaced in our searches, or, never made it to the showroom floor to begin with.

Perhaps this is what was referred to as the 21CK3 as mentioned in the Radio & TV News June 1957.

It is the 21CK3. Here is mine, still in its as-found condition. The 21AX unfortunately has gone to air.

Wow... I did not realize that someone out there had this! Man that is sooo cool! Is this the only example known to exist? It seems your yoke cover is still there, Tim. Mine went to dust a long time ago!

Yes, they do that on the 902 and 905 chassis. I'm sure that wouldn't fly in today's age! I am not sure if the 15" model does it.

The yoke cover in this one is a bit misshapen but intact. I have others in sets that are disintegrated though. I guess storage conditions over the years play a big part in this. I don't know if it is the only surviving example but it is in fairly nice cosmetic condition. Like yours, the original legs are missing but not hard to replace.

Motorola, like a few of the other makers, started out building their own chassis. RCA seemed to dominate the market for the mid to later 50's.
As mentioned before, there wasn't enough color programing to support the sales of sets.

Tim, the 21CK3 is a beauty! The yoke cover on my TS905 had turned to dust. I followed Bob Galanters instructions and made a nice repro. cover for the yoke.

The 15" TS900 set cabinet does not have a top that opens like the TS902 and TS905.

Hey John! The last time we spoke, you had mentioned, you still had a problem with the color demod circuit in your TS905.
The circuit looks strange, compared to what we're used to working on.
It must be a couple years ago, since we last spoke.

Hi Dave. I got the TS905 working, except I could never get enough vertical height. I tried everything, including swapping yoke and output transformer, and checked/replaced all the passive components. Never did figure it out, and finally put the set aside. I will get back to it one of these days, I must be missing something obvious.
