CTC5's turning up - Videokarma.org TV - Video

Within the last few months, I have turned up 3 more CTC5 Supers! I can't get into one of my buildings where I keep them because of so much stuff in them preventing me from inventorying. I think I have around 15 of them so far. One of the three recently acquired is a rough one like it was on someones' back porch. I am perhaps going to break it up for parts but it does have a pretty good complete chassis in it and wanted to keep it whole for a spare chassis.

Does anyone need any body parts? Parts of the cabinet or pencil box? It also has a UHF tuner.

21AXP22! I'll take any good CRT's you can spare for sure! If you help me, I know a very thankful fellow collector who will gladly show you pictures of his reassembled Wingate...

There is a shortage of ctc5s on this end of the state if you need to spread them out. I could use one.

I wouldn't mind having a "V" tricolor emblem that wasn't bent.

Julian, I need a good 21AXP22A CRT for my Muntz CTC-5 clone. This is perhaps the only complete example of this set in existence, but its CRT has open filaments so it is probably leaky. Please let me know if you end up with an available spare CRT. Thanks.

Is the one you are speaking of the POS that you picked up at Radiofest in Chicago last month. I took one look at that hulk and decided it wasn't even worth hauling off it they gave it to me. I don't know why you even wasted the effort to load that pile of junk into the back of your car. Not only was the crt dead, it was a 21cyp22 which was the wrong type. Cabinet was a total POS too.

I believe the legs on some CTC-5 models were like the one I am missing on my 21-CT-55. The leg I am searching for is 4 1/2 inches long and has a brass ring around the bottom. If you have a leg like this I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Of course, the existing stain doesn't matter. In fact, the brass finisher is the most important part; if necessary, I can fabricate the wooden leg, but I do not have the skill to make the brass part.

Yes, this is the set found at radiofest last month. Pickings there that would interest me were few so I had a lot of room in my van coming home. I made an offer and he took it. Yes, the cabinet is rough and there is a glass tube in it (NO 21AXP22) but the chassis is 100% complete with a good pencilbox, all knobs, front glass, bezel, convergence ass'y and purity ring were intact which is a good parts source for my other units and I have rarely heard of any other parts sets on this forum such as this for oddball parts. The legs are solid metal, brass colored (not wood & brass) but no back. I'm thinking that I will go through the chassis and see if it could make a good spare unit as it was pretty good and have seen far worse chassis' that were repaired to a good working standard.

I haven't checked the glass CRT yet but it is not broken or down to air so it is a good candidate for rebuilding as they are not making any more roundies. To me it was worth bringing home to join the others.

sounds like you made a good and balanced decision Julian. Good save. You guys know they rebuild model t's if they have a just a door handle to start with.
