Flat faced CRTs.
Was there any real technical advantage to having a totally flat CRT face?

From a technical standpoint I think a flat faced CRT was much harder to do in terms of focus, convergence and geometry, from a viewing standpoint it's more accurate.

Main advantage, helps to reduce reflections. :-)

I think that flat CRTs started with computers, less picture distortions, good for graphics. Then it became a sales gimmick |

In 2000 I bought a Zenith IQB27FW, it had a beautiful picture on it, probably the best I had seen up to that time. It was LG made with Zenith technology
