JVC GR-C1U thrift store save.
I just got this at my local thrift as they were about to throw it in the trash.
Mint condition, came in the hardshell case with all the bits including the instruction book ( apart from the optional mains PSU ) and one pretty dead battery. Managed to get enough charge into the battery to fire her up and open the cassette door, but with no VHS-C tape all i can do is look. What a lovely camcorder, far too good to be sent to the landfill IMHO. |

I had one of those, & the adaptor to make it work in a std VHS machine. Despite the "Rube Goldberg" nature of it all, the l'il thing made EXCELLENT pictures, beautiful color, & the adaptor worked quite well. I forget what I did w/it, that's been nearly 30 yrs ago...Think I traded it on a hi-fi stereo full-size camcorder, which is also long since gone...

Lucky, I really wanted one of these...
I hear one even traveled back in time to 1955. |

Great find / save.
Definitely looks like the model from 'Back to the Future'. A while back (ten years ago) I was combing e-bay for one of these, but gave up. Certainly would grab it if I came across it. |

This is the one, if you Google Images "back to the future jvc" you get tons of pictures of it.
I believe this one is sought after for that reason, just like Marty's Flip Clock. |
