selenium focus rectifier

hey guys , is there any positive way to test a focus rectifier stick, an rca 113397?

I've never tried to test one, just replaced it. The internal resistance is too high. Same is true with the boost diodes.
A lot of them aren't easy to replace. On the CTC15 and clones, the HV cage, has to be disassembled.

well i found out recently that the boost diode i believe if it shows resistance in one or both directions its bad. because testing with the dvom normally shows nothing and i had a bad one in one of my sets and sure enough the new one did the trick and the old one did show resistance.

Focus sticks we just changed. You can measure the HV
on the cathode & be sure its abt 6KV or more then work
your way through the resistors, pot etc.
If you cut one open its a stack of little discs in series so
the voltage drop realy adds up.
