rca roundie combo
took a chance on this, http://providence.craigslist.org/atq/3805605699.html
They wouldn't say much over the phone, it looks pretty complete, but picture tube is destroyed unfortunately. Does have a tube amp and radio though. I'll be posting more pics tomorrow. If you've got any leads on a picture tube, u know one for sale for $10 and 3 miles from my house, lol, send me a pm |

Necked means the neck(rear thinner part with the guns) is broken/cracked/hanging off. Sometimes it does not look like it from the front(phosphors blown off the screen in a circle)

All is not lost if someone here has a good crt. It would be good practice for you or just good for parts. What model/chassis is it? CTC ?

CRT looks fine in the picture. Did something happen to it since then?

It was crazy how the guy tells me it's his grandfathers set, then proceeds to tell me at the very end, this was left over by a tv repair place. |

That is one nice looking set. I'm kind of partial to roundie combo units, though I do have a CTC17X rectangular combo I'm working on. Definitely worth trying to find a CRT for. Nice score!

all tube, that was the deciding factor in taking the plunge including the waste crt.
Looks like there might be a separate mts stereo thing as well. |

No mts stereo in the 60's. That is the MPX decoder for FM stereo
