Australian Ferris/Raytheon B&W set
I spotted this set at a local auction house today. It's the first Ferris TV set I've seen. I know the brand mainly for their car radios. Looking over the set I noticed a label on the back (that I didn't get a pic of, will do so next time I'm there) that it was licensed from Raytheon.
All the parts that I could see appeared to be locally made (at least those with branding on them). There's a 1960 date code on the yoke. The audio output transformer appears to have been replaced, the HV cage cover is missing and the tuner is hanging down in the cabinet with missing valves (perhaps a tuner fault was the last problem that finally ended its useful life) |
