wv,

I have learned not to run the bidding up, so I wait until the last moment to place a bid. Unfortunately this technique makes me lose many auctions (I save a LOT of money this way). I was out in the shop and forgot about the time. I'm really pissed at myself. I wrote the buyer offering to buy it for a profit but haven't had my communication returned.

DAMN!

Rob

Use Esnipe. It has never failed me. It places the bid 4 seconds before the end of the auction automatically. If you win, you pay a very small fee.

Personally I like to do it manually. I only ambush auctions I REALLY want, and lately $$ keep me from doing much of anything bid wise. I guess I get a rush watching the seconds tick by. I use a wideband cable IP, and a digital kitchen timer - RadioShack. By refreshing rapidly about ten minutes before the end of the auction I get the timer, in countdown mode, syncronized to the auction, or at least pretty damn close, and at five minutes before the end I switch to the bid page, fill it out, and wait for the times to say 6 seconds. I picked 6 by trial and error. I have been known to get the bid in at the last second, literally. I have had great results, unless you count folks that are p....d at me for getting in under them! Of course, Rob, I DO hafta remember to be at the computer in the first place! I feel your pain!
