howdy, anybody in Iowa?
Howdy everybody...
I'm essentially here to read and learn. I've been browsing these forums for some time now just enjoying the conversation and trying to apply the advice I've read here to the many pieces of electronic equiptment I've collected in the last few years. I have a little of everything, tube radios, a 1967 "roundie" Magnavox console, a couple big Zenith and RCA stereo consoles, and as of today a working Philco Predicta. On top of all that, I've got a storage unit full of stuff my mother would kill me if she knew I bought, haha. At this point I know some very basic things, and would like to meet some other people who share my interest in preserving older things, not just electronics. If theres anybody living near Iowa who wouldn't mind letting me watch them fix a TV, or might even help me fix some of my older sets, I'd really appriciate the opportunity.... |

Hello and welcome to Videokarma. There are several members (including myself) scattered around the midwest. Where in Iowa are you located?

Welcome to VK! I'd love to teach you stuff, I too like preserving older things in general. But like with a lot of tvs that come up, too far away.....

Hi,
Welcome! I had some great times at both Iowa State and University of Iowa when I was in college! Went to Northern Illinois myself in Dekalb. Made that drive down Rte 88 many times(many years ago!). I am also new here so I am not the best one to learn from but just by posting progress and pictures this site can be invaluable. Good luck!
