We all know that 1.7Mhz and lower is OPEN AT NIGHT but how high up is also OPEN AT NIGHT??

I know 160 is (1.8 - 2Mhz) but how much higher???

I know 80 is (3.6 - 4) and 40 right?

How high on the analogue spectrum IS OPEN like 1.5Mhz is at night???

Very roughly, 10 MHZ.

An easy way to tell currently: Google "SDR Enschede" and download the 24 hour
waterfall plot. Note that they are about a half a time zone east of Greenwich.

The bands get funky sometimes. Last night I was working a station in New Mexico on 7279 when the noise got crazy and the band dropped out within a couple minutes.

Up to 24 MHz it was wide open just before sunset today. I thought the
nearby noise generator was on! ... but the signals were fading a bit,
so I looked on the Airspy and there were real
signals everywhere ... I've never seen so much old fashioned
digital (RTTY etc.)
