How do you decorate your sets for Christmas?

Since we are now in the wonderful month of December I did some decorating around the house and in my room. I gave my CTC-7 Pensbury a nice Christmas look for the holidays. How do you folks decorate your sets for the Holidays? Post some pictures!

Well, I don't have pics, but there was at least one Christmas season that my 59' Zenith Space Command had a small tree on it with a vintage light set on it. Some vintage glass ornaments, yadayadayada. I don't think i'll do that this year. Feeling lazy.

huh, I just noticed you have a vintage Motorola clock radio on your console tv too! weird coincident. What model is that one?, I like the look of it.

Actually it is a GE Model 64 clock radio I picked up for $20 unrestored. A great AA5 once restored.

Interesting! I have a 67 and it is a "flat top" .... I always assumed that the models with the rounded corners were all the later 500 series. Thanks for the info! Indeed, nice radio!

Really or are ya kidding? I don't recall running the Zenith when I had the tree on it, and I had some tinsel on it.

In the past I have just played old Christmas programs on mine - but I may put the ceramic Christmas tree on one this year now that you mentioned decorating it.

No Joke... High voltage will arc across it and mess up a tv REALLY BAD... Tracked a piece of tinsel into my room rug and was working on a tv in the same spot and "ZZZZZZZZZZZT!!" The tv never recovered..... Kinda like Mylar balloons and power lines... BAAAAD NEWS!!

I have two hand crocheted stocking ornaments (by my late grandmother), about the size of my hand that I put on the end of my antennae! It doesn't affect reception or anything! I used to wrap some extra tinsel around the bottom of my TV cart, but after reading this thread, I'm going to take it off. I do get an ornament or two and hang them off the sides of the cart's handles. The cart has slots for record albums on the bottom, and I put my Christmas albums there for the season.

I have of those GE clock radios which I have been afraid to spend time around since I tried a Geiger counter near it. The hands on the telechron clock movement have a thick coating of radium paint.

Yes, mine has lost its glow in the dark but a UV light illuminates it well. Don't have a Geiger counter to test the radioactivity of the paint. But I am not really concerned about it.

Mine lost its glow too, but the Geiger counter went nuts through headphones and on the meter when you put the GM tube right up to the hands of the clock. More so than a Zenith I have with a similar clock, and an order of magnitude more than radium watch hands.

I am sure it's not actually a significant amount of radiation, just the memory of the Geiger counter going nuts makes me nervous to get close to that radio.

Hey maxhifi, wanna sell it? I don't care about that mumbo jumbo radioactivity, radium. I don't plan on licking the stuff, or scraping it off and snorting it.

Nice avatar, seems familiar

Exponential decay is enough to make me relax... It stays on the shelf. When I said not get too close to I meant a foot from my head every night for 7 hours operating as a clock radio ought to.
