Rca chro-bar generator manual?
I just scored an rca bar/dot/chroma generator at the Shelby hamfest. It is a model wr-502a. Does anyone know where I could find a manual or a scan of one for it? It's a pretty neat looking portable unit. Looking at ads for it in old magazines, it appears that there should be some additional alligator clip leads coming from the left side.

The wires that come out the front with alligator clips are missing. They are for the gun killer switches on the front panel. I always found them to be in the way and I never used them so on mine they were all cut off. If crt bias is set correctly you can just turn the screen control all the way down and do the same thing without connecting the clip leads. Also the battery meter in the upper right corner is missing it's cover. Also common. I loaned mine to an instructor years ago in the early 80's and never got it back.

The newer WR-508B had an accessory AC supply added. Our bench WR-538 was strictly AC. I still have it too. We used it until we got the VA62...

I just took another look at it, and realized that it already has an ac adapter socket, so that should make powering it up rather easy.
I also realized that I posted this in the wrong forum. I didn't see that there was one for test equipment. Feel free to move it.. Al Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk |
