Any more good 21AXP22s where that came from? I could use one for my CTC4.

They spec'd a #47 lamp for a reason. The #44 lamp runs a bit hotter. The extra heat might melt or darken an irreplaceable tuning indicator.

I did not find a spec for the bulb number, went by the post above that said #44 for the Deluxe chassis. Do you have a schematic that specs #47? I have those and could replace the #44s.

I don't think so. Got it from Pete Deksnis. Don't know how he got it, but don't think he has any more.

I don't remember too well, as the last time I worked on a CTC5 was the mid to late 60's. |

Been playing with the 21AX set up -
After the reminder about degaussing, I did it, and everything (purity, convergence) changed drastically. This did not happen with the glass tube, so I assume it's the metal cone itself that is the problem. I have been able to get the pure field purity back, but now white field purity is not so great. Probably have to play with the edge magnets. Dynamic convergence on this tube is a problem - can't seem to get enough vertical red and green amplitude. The internal dag on the tube hides the pole pieces, so it's hard to tell where the proper convergence coil location is. It also seems like the blue lateral magnet interacts with red and green more than on the glass tube. I'm guessing there must be some differences between this gun and the ones Scotty used. Can someone who has a working CTC-5 Super chassis and a scope put in a signal with full black to white range and tell me what the peak-to-peak signals on the cathodes are? If possible, a measurement of the detector output would help too.
I've suspected for a long time that this set has low drive , but I can't find a good reference to what the level should be. SAM's is no help because it shows the signal for gated rainbow, which has little or no luminance signal. |

I have a spare cabinet for the CTC-5 in this thread, with a few of the parts including a back (will post more details tomorrow when I have a chance to look at it again). Legs were sawed shorter than original at some time before I got them.
Free to anyone who can pick it up or arrange/pay for shipping. Otherwise, will have to curb it, as I am moving across country in a month. |

Here's the cabinet. Also included: the safety glass (it's there, maybe hard to see). The metal trim around the safety glass. The pencil box. Some CRT shroud mounting ears. No knobs or anything else but what you see.

Any interest? If not, has to go to the curb soon!

I'm thinking of getting it for a half decent back for my CTC-4. I'm going to be swamped until after the ETF meet this weekend though...

Let me know ASAP after the meet (like Monday if you can) - judgment day and large item trash pickup are coming soon. If I have to hold it for you a couple of weeks that's OK, but not if it's going to be trashed anyway - there are limits on how much they'll take each week.

Got you! I'm probably going to be in Kenosha on Sunday to get some stuff, if so I'll try to combine trips.
