RCA CTC-92 console in an unusual cabinet

Black with a chrome top, I've never seen one of these before. Made in August 1978. Also has the remote.

Not bad, one of those would be worth having even to me. I wonder if it has the original 25VEHP22(?), I read that a lot of those went bad early on.

The excuse for unloading it is pretty old but it's unclear who made the decision.

That's a mirror sitting on the lacquered top, possibly a custome mirror and not stock. I wish I still had our RCA Model/Yr Sales binders - that was a top of the line set in 1977/78 - aimed at the folks that did the Eames thing with their modern furnishings. The other set they made in the modern style in 1978 had boxy metal tube sides with lacquered finish - never saw one but in an RCA Indy showroom photo...possibly only sold through upscale modern furnishing stores in big cities.

No more racetrack sets after that set....

Back in the late 70's I had a buddy who had an RCA dealership. He used to call those sets "The Football". Those were the top of the line and as I recall were excellent playing sets.

I like it. Never seen one but I think I remember it from Dealerscope
or one of the other brown goods trade papers. They always showed
the prime cuts.
A good one for someone to save. I agree, rare.
