Motorola With Bakelite Cabinet Outside Of Pittsburgh
Store owner said $150. I didn't try to talk him down at all, bakelite doesn't do much for me. He did say the set was in total working order, but that the horizontal hold was right on the edge.

I'd cross my fingers & just Go For It...If memory serves, that COULD be the same kind of set that was in the 1968 original "Night of the Living Dead"....It's at least a double-first cousin, anyway...

Thats a rather attractive set. The price seems a tad high, unless it is truly in working order.

I like the design too. Now I know for sure that mine needs a nice new brass paint job around the screen

I have one
Being able to look beyond my snobbish roundie or nothing attitude has been a benifit. For the right price this tv is a good addition and has great visual appeal. If this set is the same as mine not only does it look real cool but what's inside is quite intresting, The chasis employs a power magnetic speaker and more humorous is that the chasis was physically designed for a round crt. The front part of the chasis is curved to pocket the bottom of a round crt. A fight for space between the rectangular 17BP4 and rf amp tube leaves the tuner tube resting on the crt at an angle. A good example of left over chasis used in new products. Like evolution from monkeys to man or is that man to monkeys?.

You know "Night Of The Living Dead" was filmed in and around Pittsburgh. So not only could be the same KIND of set that was in the film, but it could BE the set from the film. Food for thought

Don't tell the shop owner that or the price might become $1500.

The last one I saw that was that neat and clean, was about 45 years ago. I used to sell them for $25 to $35 Back then.
