Whoa, you sure did do well! The remote you want is the RMT-V30. I have been in touch with whomever has that thing listed, just to inquire about the "replacement" remote. Did so last month.

I have a Panasonic PV-4022 mono VHS VCR. Still works like new after 11 years, although I don't use it for recording anymore, just for playing the old VHS tapes in my collection. The automatic clock set function does not work any longer since the DTV transition. This feature used a special XDS (extended data signal) to set the clock; the signal was transmitted (in the vertical blanking interval, if I remember correctly) by PBS television stations, but when DTV came along that signal disappeared. Oh well, since I don't use the deck anymore for recording that doesn't matter.

One thing about some of these old VCR's. They may be built like tank and be reliable, but the power consumption is something else! Not exactly economical.

Perhaps, but I doubt that they consume as much power over DVD players as flat-screens do over CRT sets.

Gotta put my 1985 Zenith VR 2000 JVC built VCR out there.
Sure it's mono, but the thing hasn't let me down! and has been trouble free since i got it last summer. |
