Not really, since they don't have one.

I missed that. But a weak 7JP4 is almost as bad as none.

Weak does not mean dead and I am sure Steve would not list them if they were totally unusable. You could write the museum and ask the condition.

7JP1 acceptable? I think they were used in Sun engine analyzers and some oscilloscopes, but I don't know how common they are. At least their non-controlled heaters haven't been repeatedly flashed in a series string TV arrangement like most of their 7JP4 siblings. I think I have one as a spare, but haven't tested it in a working set.

Yes, they are 100% compatible. So is a 7VP1. Of course, the image will be green.

Some 3BP1 can take 6kv and be used as test CRTs, not all. I've done it when they were plentiful and inexpensive surplus.

A little Shrek-O-Vision never hurt anyone!

Hi to all,

Hi Annihilus,

The ETF (Early Television Foundation) has 3x weak 7JP4's in stock.

In the YT video of the Jan Zoom meeting during the Open Bar discussion it is mentioned that a stash of CRTs, including several 7JP4 had been donated to the Museum from the estate of a defunct collector and needed pickup.

I would watch their "For Sale" list (see link) and send a message to the Museum that you are interested in acquiring one :

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...18&single=true

ETF Mail: info AT earlytelevision DOT org

Good Luck!

Best Regards
