Old Admiral TV find ?
Hi All
I was looking for old stereo equip. and ran accrossed an old, very old tv cabinet. No guts in it. It was very unusual . The glass was still in it, Round on the sides flat top and bottom. The front where the glass is extends out about 3"- 4" or so. It looked like it was an oak cabinet, that could be restored maybe. They wanted $35 for it. Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anybody wanted it. I don't and don't know sh*t about tv's. It did say Admiral on the front.... If this is something you want I can go back an get you a photo !? PM me and let me know. Army

Am guessing this is located somewhere in Iowa? Am curious to see a pic if it's not too much trouble, but doubt I'd buy it as that's far from me. Thanks.

Here's an old tube record player and shortwave. Same store $55
Couldn't tell what brand. Thought I'd throw it in just for kicks.

The cabinet design of that radio/phonograph is kinda strange looking, but at the same time, it's really cool looking! Very unusual.

Hmmm. I'd say with a refinish job that cabinet would look like new again. Put another vintage Admiral chassis in it, and there you are.
I saw the pics of the Admirals like yours in Anthony's post. I didn't realize those sets had channel 1 as late as 1948. Was always under the impression that channel 1 had been reassigned to other services (notably, the ham radio 6-meter band) by then, with the channel being used for TV only for a very short time after the war.
