Big Packard Bell roundie

Kansas.

Big old thing, price its too high but they have a Make Offer option so they might just be fishing to see what it's worth.

It looks clean and has a raster.

Oh that is cool.

I just picked up a Packard Bell Roundie here in Oklahoma City. Same wood tone and cabinet style except the tuner for both the tv and stereo is on the right hand side and the crt is in the middle. Similar faceplate with the faux wood trim on the plate but the tv controls are with the radio under the door.

The stereo still sounds great and there is a full raster, solid crt and a good pic on it. The set had been sitting in the same spot for decades. The owners had to move into an assisted living center and the tv had to go. They were using it up until the mid 90's. They said they have never replaced the pic tube so either they RARELY used it or they forgot about changing the crt. The crt is bright and has good grayscale. Only thing missing is the color. Probably something simple.....at that point, to only have that be a problem, it is nothing. Just replace the caps for good measure and it will live on.

That is pretty cool finding a PB color roundie. LOVE IT!

Nice set, too bad he didn't have it when I picked up the set in my avatar. I would have been all over that. He's a nice guy, his name is Steve IIRC. He sold a CTC 5 "Lockhaven" for 1,500 so he might get what he's asking. Who knows.....
EDIT: I just took a better look and man, I really want one of these. It's even got a push pull 6BQ5 amp in it. The looks of the control panel is nice too. But, I'm not driving back to Overland Park to get it.

THat cabinet is really cool!

If I'm not mistaken, someone here (maybe Steve K) has a NOS Packard Bell table top model that's still got the stickers on the CRT from when it was new... and perhaps never been plugged in! Or at least, it hadn't been when he posted a pic of it.

Charlie:

That is Steve Hoffman who has the NOS Packard. Steve D and I tried to convince him to let me bring it up on a Variac with no luck.

Steve

I know, too many Steves
