Montgomery Ward 25" model GNB12995B destroyed

I've had this set for a couple month now. Finally dug it out of storage to test. Works pretty well. The date tag is missing. Any idea what year model this is? It appears to have the same styling as a couple of Sharp Lynitron sets I've had in the past.

Maybe. I know I've had two of these under another brand. I know I had a Lynitron as well but that was a 19". I don't remember having any super sets.

That set is identical to one I had years ago. I found it to be an nap set when I opened it. So Its a magnavox/sylvania set.

Why'd you pitch it? Looked like it worked well.

Knocked it over and the face of the crt got scarred from rubbing the floor. It was heavily worn anyway. Alot of scuffs, and back wouldn't stay on due to stripped screws. I usually only keep higher end sets or rare, unusual sets.

It's a NAP set. Sylvania made sets for Wards and when NAP bought Sylvania in '81, the company still continued to supply sets for Wards. They were bad about using the same cabinet design for years and I've seen that same cabinet used as early as about 1983 and as recent as about 1990. I know it's too late now; but, the best thing to do in situations like this is pull the back and see what chassis is in it.

I had the back off when I first got it in an attempt to realign the back with the front. Too cheaply made and had a lot of use. Just nothing special enough to keep around. Not a big fan of Sylvania anyway. They did have some nice looking superset consoles about 25-30 years ago.

With all due respect the last 4 sets you've posted about all went in the trash, maybe offer them up on here for some to take off your hands to either fix or for spares if you don't have time to deal with them.

With all do respect, I've sat on these kind of dime a dozen sets for years and couldn't give them away. That's just the facts. No body here wants them except to scrap out for copper. I wouldn't worry about it. I still have a ton of sets sitting. Here's a tip tho, worry about yourself and what you do and stay out of my business. I don't know you and you sure as he'll don't know me. Thanks.

Wow, pretty harsh reply to a simple request.
This is a TV collecting forum, you have to expect some negative feedback to tossing working sets in the trash.

Yeah and all at the same time, I didn't ask for his input. They were junk. Simple as that. Cosmetically beat up and so forth. I'm quite sure I've saved as many sets or more than most on here. I've been doing it since I was 13 and I'm 40 now. No worries.
