old tv production truck

One of the first color TV live remote trucks built by RCA and delivered to CH 4 in Buffalo NY around 1970 Costing just over 1 million dollars to buildhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIIUFBo9r1E

Shows as WBAY, which is in Green Bay WI. Here in Buffalo, at the time channel 4 was WBEN, now WIVB.

I'll bet WBAY gets more WWW hits than any other TV station,
since "W" is next to "E" on the keyboard. It sure gets LOTS of
hits from me.

An old Gertenschlager unit. Many small remote outfits used them up to the late 70's.

I think that is very sad. Although I don't have room for another vehicle like that, I'm reasonably certain that some collector would have loved to have that truck.

I agree. They probably could have donated it to a museum and gotten the same money in the form of a tax break that they got from the scrap metal.

It is very sad. But then again, I feel that way about all old vehicles that are still useful.
