CTC 16 Remote set

I got this set during my visit with Charlie. Many thanks to Charlie for the set. The cabinet is in pretty sad shape. It will have to be redone. This set will be 4th in line for my winter projects. I have to finish my CM roundie combo first.

I also picked up a Truetone roundie from the TV shop. The Truetone is in the background. The CRT in that set is toasted. I will post pictures after the wood glue dries tomorrow. The set was in the TV shop when Hurricane Rita hit Texas. The cabinet is severely water damaged.

While you are at it you can put a hinged top on that set, for easier servicing!

I have been really considering that. Charlie has a 1955 Motorola color set that has a hinged top. Sweet to change tubes in a cramped space.

Funny!

I have never seen a Truetone roundie.

It is good to know they were saved!

To think that most people would have definately sent those to the dump is frustrating.

I am going to send that pic to my freind in Murphy, N.C. to make sure he knows I want one in any condition!

I need to buy a little of that RCA verneer!

I guess I am too late as the thought didn't come to me when I first saw your unfinished cabinet but I am hoping you have some of the outermost layer of that wood verneer from the '65 RCA remote that I could buy. I need a small amount of little pieces to go on the lower side strip of my set. My strip is 1/2" X 12" (missing area) in a wave form from the lower side of '64 brown french provincial cabinet. So, I can use many pieces cut and layed side by side to do it.
I would greatly appreciate getting the original RCA cabinet wood even if the color is off.
I can pay you for your time as well.
I tried to send a PM but your box is full.
Thank you very much
