In my opinion, a very reasonable price for a working CTC9 with a good CRT. It would be in my collection already if it were close to where I live.

Shameless plug..

Why buy that, when you could buy this for just a little more:

Totally refinished, NOS 21CYP22, recapped chassis.

It looks like that set didn't go thru a total recap. Looking closer at the video board, it appears to still have the original caps. I can see a newer yellow cap on the horz board. Perhaps they only replaced what they thought was needed to get it running.

In either case, it certainly is a nice set.

With a few minutes to go, the price is now $1900 after 35 bids.

Looks kinda suspicious to me. Just two bidders and multiple bids by the same person.

Is this genuine bidding or someone bidding against himself to try and up the bid?

All of those bids are due to the "robo-bid" programs that are available. They constantly check the price and rebid as needed until they beat the highest bidder.

Apparently, two people really, really wanted this set and went crazy. A dream for the seller!

Wow... 2400 bucks? Now every RCA set that goes on ebay for the next few weeks... whether black & wht or color... will have rediculous reserves or opening bids.

Another thought... it's relisted on ebay next week due to a non-paying bidder. That would really suck for the seller. I'm sure that won't happen in this case, but it does from time to time.

Good Lord, I should list my CTC-7 ASAP. According to how this sale went, it's gotta be worth at least $4,500!

Wow, wonder if the bids are legit?

In any case that's a crazy price for a 9, and is it my imagination or is this one not displaying Green very well?
