I use a Tenma 72-6355 that I purchased from MCM decades ago. I don't think that model is available any more.
It paid for itself the first day it arrived. Like they say, "don't leave home without it!" |

Get an ESR meter. It is truly invaluable for troubleshooting. I prefer the analog meter style opposed to the digital style; If you're on the East coast, check MAT electronics. If you're on the West coast, check with Nesco Electronics in San Francisco 800-824-4300. They both carry the same meter. I own two, and carry one in my mobile toolkit. Very well made, Runs about $45 IIRC.
