RCA VR-450 VCR (made by Hitachi) info needed...
Probably all the entire TV/VCR technicians in this country had seen and serviced a RCA VR-450 VCR before. It was made in 1988-1989 by Hitachi. What were the problems you saw, how frequently they need to be repaired, and did it perform reliably? How was the repair experience?

Belts, Idler tire, mostly.
Rarely saw them for anything else.

Got a picture? I recall RCA by Samsung about that time frame as well as Hitachi. I would know it better by visual than model number.

RCAs were also made by Panasonic back then as well (I have an old RCA VR671HF VCR from 1990 that was basically a rebadged Panasonic VCR) the only problem with it is that the VCR for some reason doesn't recognize that there's a tape in it so it wouldn't always play, and sometimes it would "see" the tape in there and it would play just fine.
