Speaking of the uninformed masses
This eBay seller seems to have confused an ordinary late 50's B&W Philco console for a TV-123 Color set
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Philco-C...item3cba9b03a3 If he looked a little more closely he'd see it's called a "Golden D" and not just a "Golden" |

I had 1 a 1953 Philco with a "golden Grid" chassis. I gave it to a collector about 5 years ago. I bought it working at a thrift store in California for $18.95. Was a nice set. Still works today.

That empty socket is not a tube socket. It might be a test or accessory socket.

Might have even been a socket for a color adapter, the old kind with a color wheel for the CBS color system.

I don't think that it is that old.

Apparently it's a 24" set from 1957 (somewhat after the days of CBS color).
