I just got a YES record (90125) and although I have this cassette and dont like it very much! (Doesnt sound very good) THE RECORD IS AMAZING!!!!!!

I guess records are the way to go!!! (I have always known that but I have had several cassettes/records where the records sound MUCH NICER than the same album on cassette!)

I almost didnt get this record as it had alot of white streaks on it,etc...... Wasnt taken care of very well..... But I gave the record A COMPLETE CLEANING and got 99% of the white streaks out of it (Still a few light streaks (Not very visible)).....

IM GLAD I GOT IT!!!!!

If I were you I'd try the PVA wood glue record cleaning method (there are threads about it on AudioKarma and Videos of it on YouTube). I have used wood glue to remove dirt, mold and other maladies that other methods are ineffective on...I actually have a three step process involving a half dead idler drive changer and some brush/home made cleaning solution pretreatment. I tend to leave some distilled water on the record to help the glue penetrate into the grooves.

I found "The Admiral 'Million Dollar Look' in Color TV" complimentary gift album that apparently was given out with new Admiral sets at one time. There's a sticker with the address of a local repair shop on the cover; I wonder what's at that address now.

I went to a reg record store today and got Survivor (Vital signs) and Madonna (True blue)!!

I cant believe survivor was there since 2007!!! (The date on the sticker was 1/4/2007) -- THATS THIER BEST ALBUM I THINK!!!!!

I cant believe they had it that long!! (They mark the date when ppl bring albums in)

I was a little worried about the Madonna record when I got home because it said "Available on Cassette and '''compact disc''' (DIGITAL)"

I was weary and hopefull THEY USED THE ANALOGUE MASTER for the record!!!! (it sure sounds excellent!!!!! (Im glad they did))

I also dropped a record off today (Just 2 songs on it (YMCA and MACHO MAN (Its not the original version of the song which is what I wanted!! (I got it @ salvation army for $1))))

They asked me when i brought it in if i wanted to trade and I said NO,I JUST WANTED TO GIVE IT TO YOU SO YOU COULD MAYBE PUT IT UP..... (I guess not many ppl do that there (I DO IT CONSTANTLY AT SALVATION ARMY (I was gonna bring that back there but seeing as we were going there,i decided to give it to them)))

I wonder what they marked it for?? -- I mentioned maybe they could get $3 for it.....

I found an Apple Mouse IIe, model A2M2070, in excellent condition for 3 bucks before my discount. These can go for 50 bucks on eBay without much trouble. Now I just need the matching computer with mouse interface card. Last year I got a sealed copy of Apple System Utilities on 5.25" disk from eBay which I still haven't removed the plastic film from and won't until I get one of these computers.

A LG Flatron L192WS monitor. It turns on and displays the message "check signal cable" (I don't yet have one for this) which moves around the screen. Hopefully this will make a good replacement for my worn-out Chinasonic CRT monitor. The picture never was very sharp, and it has screen burn from browser toolbars and a foldover issue that goes away as it warms up.

My notable finds for the week included a 15" Polaroid LCD monitor, a Lee powder measure (such an odd thing to find at a thrift store), Canon LiDE 25 flatbed scanner, an Intermatic 8-event electronic water heater timer, a mid '40s Ekco pressure cooker, and a 48" Dietzgen parallel ruler.

Also saw a Roper gas stove, probably a mid-late '70s unit and in pretty good shape (superficially at least), marked $10. I'm thinking I may go back with the truck on Monday and see if it's still there.

I put out odd stuff all the time, you never know. It goes on what I call the "catch-all" shelf.

As for the stove, my store doesn't take major appliances. That would eat up floor space mighty fast. I already have to make a lot of hairpin turns in there with the mechandising carts and it's impossible to avoid minor collisions.
