Unbuilt Heathkit GR-9009 TV on Ebay

I had forgot that Heathkit made this 9" color TV kit. I am not affiliated with the Ebay auction.

Here is a picture of the TV as built, from another site:

I think that's a mid '80's set, from the Zenith era. Actually, that's a kit version of the popular 9" Zenith color sets that were available, in many colors, during the mid '80's. Years ago, someone gave me the guts out of an '80's 25" Heathkit TV. It was actually a Zenith system 3 chassis. Reading the manual, the modules were already assembled. All one had to do was plug everything together.

I have an almost exact set as that by Zenith. Picked it up for $1 at a yard sale. I gave it to my mom for a kitchen TV. It's still getting a daily workout.

There is a very similiar Zenith sitting on the shelf at the TV shop downtown, never sold! Probably still has its faded price tag for $299 or something like that. Unfortunately they stocked it just when the price of sets collapsed (and the first WalMarts opened around here).
