1950s vintage? I don't think so.

I would guess the seller is trying to make the set in the listing look rare, so he/she can get as much money as possible from the sale. This sort of thing happens now and then on eBay as well.

Ha, off by two decades!

It probably is worth $100 to someone into 70's Mod, Orange would be better though.

That's funny the seller thinks it is from the Leave It To Beaver days.

The Philco "Safari" was the first transistorized portable, made in good ol' Philadelphia, USA.

I don't know a damn thing about TVs and the first thing I thought was;

"There can't possibly be that much plastic on anything from the '50s!"

Well, if you look at any plastic table radio from the mid to late fifties, you
will have roughly the same proportion of visible plastic as in that TV.

Another giveaway is the company address on the label with a ZIP code,
making this definitely later than 1963, IIRC.

That was in '58 correct? I think this thing is from about '75. People should research things more before they sell them, there's no excuse, everything is on the internet these days. Also, I almost forgot to mention, this is in the wrong forum. Maybe a mod should move it. That "thing" is definitely not early color!LOL!
