RCA tv/stereo console

Anyone know what this is? I'd like to build a nice 1960 style entertainment room in the basement and a big old tv/stereo console might be kind of fun to have. I'm experienced with the tube amp side of things, I have zero knowledge of the TV side.

That is a very nice set, def worth fixing and using, I hope its not still outside.

I have a roudie RCA, easy to work on and makes a nice picture.

I'd say it's a CTC-9 combo. Nice set, and very worthwhile! If you don't wind up wanting it yourself, you can undoubtedly find a nice profit in it!!

Wow, that set is a beauty! I have not seen any RCA combo older then a CTC-16 before! Go get it Scuzzer, it's a color tv! You will not be dissapointed. All vacuum tube, amp, stereo, tv. (At least im almost positive the amp is not solid state) , someone chime in.

prob have the all tube RCA tuner as well, there were two versions I am aware of, both used a magic eye and one of them is very nice, very sensitive, I use it for DXing. That would be my pride and joy.

I'll have to take a drive over there and check it out. I hope they aren't storing it where the picture was taken but it looks like there is a tarp in the pic so I'm thinking that's where it lives now. Thanks for the info guys.

RCA's first roundie combo was the CTC-10 "Cunningham" model. Not sure if this is that model.

I think that's it. I'm curious to see if this unit uses the remote or not.

Wow, so this is early 60s and the first color tv/radio/phono combo. I guess I'll have to find a way to pick this up. Next on the list is finding some service info and schematics.

Sorry Adam. No remote control offered with this top of the line model. Seems strange.

I bet it would have overloaded the typical household electrical circuit; if that thing sucked up one more watt! If I recall, a base model CTC-10 uses about 375 watts without a tuner/amp, let alone a remote chassis (with about 6 additional tubes at that time).

Since Steve points out that the first combo was a CTC-10, think this set must be 10, as it has the "COLOR rainbow emblem on the mask, and safety glass. It could be an 11, but all but one of the 11s I've seen, had bonded CRTs and no safety glass.

It also looks like it has a 21CYP22 judging by the phosphor color. I also would bet it's a 10.
