Indextrons on E-Bay

Good Day Gentlemen,

No less than two Indextrons have showed up in two different locations:
USA:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-Indextr...item4aae0c8048

Works, not recapped. Will absolutely, positively NEED full electrolytics recapping.

In Germany - (Hessen) :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SONY-KVX-370...item2566d8719f

Doesn't work. I don't think it's late Eckhard's Indextron as his was restored and worked.

Both are the NTSC only model, the KVX-370 was never produced in PAL. It has an A/V input so can be used with an ATSC converter, DVD, etc.

I have no connections to the sellers in both cases.

I won't be bidding.

Best Regards

Hi ZenithFan1,

Actually i was a bit hasty in reading the German Indextron's text:

the guy says:
"Sendersuchlauf funktioniert" and "Der Fernseher ist ein analoges TV-Gerät, kann keine Digitalen Signale empfangen."

Which translates to: "TV station search works" --> so the guy apparently has a raster displaying the Bar Graph tuner search function.

and "This is an analogue TV set, it cannot receive digital DVB-T terrestrial signals".

So it seems it works after all.

Maybe some German-fluent VK member could translate the remainder of the text i don't understand.

Best Regards

PS: I am always suspicious of auctions with no TV blank raster displayed - does it have scan or is it totally kaput!

Hello,

the whole auction translates as following:

SONY KVX-370 RARE WATCHCUBE INDEXTRON COLOR TV is a piece of television history. The "Sony" can be turned on, automatic station search works, clock can be set, too.

I couldn't check on the sets' main functions as I don't have a plug for an outdoor antenna. (he probably means connnection to an outdoor antenna)

The set is an analog receiver, can't get any digital signals.

There is a Cinch video and audio entrance.

Size:

Screen measured diagonally 9,00 cm

width: 13,00 cm
height: 13,00 cm
deepness: 13,00 cm

Power supply is not original 12 volts/30 watts, cable resoldered to fit the "Sony" plug.

This Sony tv is sold as broken, as I couldn't check all its functions.

Pictures are part of the description.

shipping & handling:

Germany up to 5,00 Kg. 6,90 €

Europe up to 1,00 Kg. 9,00 €

Worldwide up to 1,00Kg. 17,00 €

The rest in between is just legal stuff concerning his auction, I wonder however how much he charges for european domestic and overseas shipping as he indicates only weights up to ONE kilogramm and the final parcel will be heavier for sure.
Cheers,

Lars

Hi Lars, and welcome to the forum! Thanks for the translation. If I'm not mistaken, you purchased my 7JP4 off ebay a while ago for your Emerson 610. If so, I hope it's still ok!

Hi,
thanks for your welcome! And yes indeed this was me with the 7jp4 which is still doing great, it's my strongest. The Emerson 610 became a beauty after the cabinet restoration. It digests our 625/25i much better than the Motorola, sound was retuned to 5,5MHz without changing anything with the IF filters. Sound is ok, no scratching and no hum.
A few of my sets can be seen on youtube, I'm "suuf1".
Good night
Lars
