Who made this strange console on Portland CL?
I don't want it, but I'm curious who made this odd looking console.

Seriously?! It's an RCA 721 console (TCS) from 1947. If it were me, I would grab it with whatever was at my disposal to use for grabbing.

This one kind of looks like a console version of a RCA 721.
And if it were i would want this one. |

Ditto. It's an RCA 721TCS from '47. I think they're pretty cool looking and have been hunting for one for several years. This is only the 3rd I've come across. The other two were in the New England area and Lee did a fantastic job restoring one of them: http://antiqueradios.com/forums/view...p?f=3&t=168538

Light bulb goes off.
http://www.earlytelevision.org/rca_721tcs.html I remember Lee's saga now. Scraping all the photofinish off the front and replacing it with real veneer. Phil Nelson Last edited by Phil Nelson; 08-04-2011 at 01:47 AM. |

I must be insane. OK, just brush off the dust and then it's packed away until I finish that 661-P!
Phil Nelson P.S. The CRT tests very strong. |

I saw the CL Post had expired so I was very relieved that you got it instead of the fish people.

That looks very nice. And a great dusting job! It takes great self control to stop with the dusting.
That's a sign of a very mature collector |

After a long delay for cabinet refinishing, the strange looking console has been restored.

Too bad you didn't want it, I'm sure you could have made it the crowning jewel of- oh, wait....
