1942 FM and TV Stations
I have a few copies of Radio and Television Retailing magazine from the 40's and 50's. It was a trade magazine intended for dealers. They have a lot of great information and ads in them, and I'll try to post more stuff if anyone's interested.
This one is from March 1942 and is a page showing the FM and TV stations at the time. Of course the FM band changed later on. Last edited by egrand; 09-19-2013 at 10:45 AM. |

Here's a chart of the frequency allocations from the same magazine. It was a two page spread, so you have to follow across both pages on each line. These are very different now too.

At my page on 45MHz B'cast FM,http://www.wa2ise.com/radios/fm45.html I have a listing of stations (scroll about 3/4 down the page). Some matches, some differences.

I know of the two stations for St. Louis, K51L was assigned to St. Louis University and K59L was assigned to Pulitzer Publishing, who owned the Post-Dispatch and KSD AM. |
