Philco Roundie

Someones selling a group of TV's, including this Roundie which I think is a Philco, at least that's what it looks like it says on the name plate.

Apparently has a cracked faceplate...not fatal but not fun to fix with that tougher bonding agent. It is a Philco.

I think Charlie has a Philco like that with a bad CRT. There is also a 23 inch rectangular version as well that I've got in my collection.

That is almost identical to a Philco roundie I picked up in December. The cabinet is a little different but in about the same condition. Mine was also missing the door over the controls. I got mine for free from an ad on CL. The guy I got it from said he could only get sound and no picture. I found that the HV rectifier was busted. Replacing that gave me a decent picture.

Think that philco is a hybrid set if it is the same as mine. Solid state if circuits. Some of them had a tuning eye too. Really cool set and has a good picture. Hope one of you guys save it.
