A new one on me: REL "Green Giant"
I like most normal :-) vintage hi-fi/radio enthusiasts, would love to have a REL Precedent. Not likely to ever happen...
At another popular web-based hi-fi forum, mention was made the other day of another REL "statement" radio project, referred to at the "Green Giant". After Googling unsuccessfully, I asked the poster about this beast, unknown to me. He indicated that it was an earlier REL product, a full receiver (rather than just a tuner); somewhat less well known than the Precedent. Armed with this new information, I found a photo. As soon as I saw it, I was wondering whether Sandy G. has one of these? :-)

There are at least two versions of that, one that does both the early and late FM bands, and one that does only the late band.
Some also have a metal cabinet. This one looks like rackmount. John |
