In case this was never fixed...this is a common problem with the 2090, 3090, 4070 etc...there is a variable resistor that corrodes as it is completely exposed, and goes to infinity look in the SM for a VR around 'VCO stop', hit this with D5/F% mark it, twizzle it and put it back. and since the light drive is a grounding provided by the LA3350 chip, its 12or less. a nice little LED with a 470ohm drop works well.

as for the faceplate bosses - they are actualyl quite common and other models and are brass,,,,just gotta find them from someone who has a tone of parts...

in all my years over half the 4070s had this problem and only one had a bad LA3350 (of which I got 3-4 from a supplier before they became counterfeit.
