Best CRT testers- application specific?

I realize that we have our preferences but do you notice if any one type of tester works better on certain tubes or functions over another?

I do have a few testers, a Beltron 8080, Sencore CR-161 and my more recent CR-70. I do have to say that I've been successful with all of them in one way or another, but I'm still getting comfortable with the CR-70.

That said, I have a couple of color roundie tubes I'm hoping to save and I want to use the best approach/application. One is low on all guns, not making cutoff but some meter movement on emissions and just not "waking up" anymore. As installed in the set, green is most predominant, blue is trying and the red is nothing.

My other has a cathode/G1 short on one gun but strong emissions on the others, (bare tube only). I'm hoping that once the short is removed it will be just as uniform.

I'm not only interested in my roundie tubes, but curious with other types and helpful suggestions.
