1950s TV shell in DC area
Hi - Saw this in CL for any of you who may be interested. I'm a vintage audio guy, so apologies if this belongs in the B&W TV section.

Geez, that kinda thing always brings me down. And yeah, it *was* B&W.

Thats sad. Those were very good sets, too. I had one. Excellent picture, perhaps the best b/w I have ever seen.
It's an RCA by the way, circa 1954. 70 degree tube (if it was still there). John |

This is very close to the first old tv I had (and still have). A good, reliable set that saw regular use by me through the late 80s. It had a vertical lin problem (conehead syndrome!) & when I tried to recap it the set no longer worked. Someday I'll pull it out & get 'er going again.
The sad thing about sets like this is they are hard to give away, even if they are all together, with a mint cabinet, and working. Supply & demand.

Ah not all that sad
after watching sets similar to that the first 13 years of my life I was glad to see a set of that type leave my living room, and enter the wonderful world of color
