Here is the '61 CTC11 Abington from Minneapolis

Thanks again to Gary for posting the set. I haven't gotten very far on this one yet but figured I'd share some pics of it anyway. I haven't started the recap due to some emergency repairs to a shipping damaged CTC7. That will be yet another thread coming soon. It works ok now, cans are cool, caps are crap in the vertical, all is pretty normal for a set this old. The linearity is as good as it gets right now The CRT is dated 39th week of '61 and checks like new, as does the original one in my other 11, and 7, 4, 9 ect....man, I have good luck with round CRTs (knocking on wood)Here are a few pics of it, I cleaned it before I took them but I'm sure we've all seen dust before. I can't wait to refinish this cabinet, I think it will be very pretty. I have fixed little things that I haven't taken a pic of yet, like the broken badge on the speaker grille. I also have all the knobs, they were just not on in the pic. This set is yet another one from a non-smoking home so no nasty smell, until I smoke around it for a while, although I like to air the place out instead of letting it sit.

New HV cup

Weird screen shot from the Mancow show....

Very nice. Looks like a low hours set. Who did you use to get it shipped to you?

I didn't have time for much of a response before, I was on the run. I've never been to Minneapolis so I used it as an excuse to go I rented a minivan and we all went as a family. A side note, I sold my truck and bought my own minivan since I picked this up. Anyways, I ended up spending more money than I anticipated with the hotel and whatnot but it was really fun. The ladies that run the store "Empty the Nest" are really nice too. It looks like a place one of these may show up at again as they deal with leftovers from estates and reselling vintage items.

As for being a low hours set, the answer is yes. It has the original very strong CRT 43rd week of 1961 and looks to never had any major repairs or many tubes changed. The tube needed a little wake up but the life test hangs a long time now on all three guns. It's really going to be nice when done, way better than the other 11 I have. The sound is great too, has a 6x9 and 2" tweeter. The large cabinet resonates the bass well, it's actually deep sounding versus a more mid bass sound and shakes the floor a little when playing music or watching music videos.
