CTC-16XL in Dallas- no crt- cheap

Would anyone here be interested in a CTC-16 XL from Dallas? This is the set that VDC in Dallas uses to test the roundies after they rebuild them. This set has no CRT. The chassis looks to be pretty clean. The owner of it doesn't want much for it... I think he was asking for a bottle of a certain brand of Tequila... or maybe 30 bucks.

If you're only interested in the chassis, that's fine as well. Phil just hates to see it go in the trash. If you're interested, you can reach Phil at 800-323-9278.

I had considered going to get it, but, I have too many projects already waiting and don't need to add another one to the list.

I think he said they made the hv lead longer so they could test the rebuilds without having to install them in the cabinet.

I'd like to have it. I'm going to Dallas from nearby Mesquite on 1/21/05.

Got it. Thanks for letting me know. I have about a dozen early color sets, including a CBS C205. I'm sure I have enough parts laying around to complete the CTC 16.

For what it's worth (nothing), I had a Physics/Math (MS) teaching(10 yrs), TV business (25 yrs) + commercial satellite (82 to present), and a passion for TV/radio collecting since 91. I have scores of b/w sets stored (& many restored) within a 100 mi. radius. Just had a 60' X 30' metal bldg w/Gambrel roof completed that will FINALLY allow me to display, store, and work on all that are not fixed--ALL UNDER ONE ROOF.

THANKS to fellow Texan & a great guy, PEverett, for telling me about this site!
