HDMI question
Dont know much about HDMI so thought I would ask it here.
I just bought a Sony 55" LED/LCD tv for my living room along with a Sony Blueray. The TV is wall mount with conduit going down through the floor and all the cables come up through the floor at my audio rack on other side of room. I was planning on running audio lines from the TV over to the audio rack (where the blueray also sits) but wondering if I could use the RCA audio outs on the blue ray or of those are just audio that comes from the blueray/dvd source. I didnt know if HDMI was two way and if it could actually pull audio from the TV or not. I cant test it as the HDMI cable I need is 50' and cant get it till tomorrow. I am not doing anything beyond 2 channel so just need L/R inputs into my 2 channel preamp. Thanks in advance Rich |

You should be able to use the audio out jacks on your Bluray player provided it isn't an either/or situation (i.e. either HDMI or Analog but not both at the same time) I've never tried it so I can't tell you for sure.
I use the optical digital out on my TV to the optical input on the Amp, this way everything displayed on the TV can go through the amp if desired, but I'm guessing the two channel amp your using is not Digital in any way? I'm sure the folks at the Audiokarma Home Theater Forum could give you the info you need. |

Generally yes you can use both at the same time. It always worked for me. Just try it and see. Nothing will be damaged.
