I had no idea what was going on with the set after the auction or I'd have tried to make a connection for you. As it was they were rushing us out the door so they could lock up. We had to rush out consoles out into the parking lot so they could close the overhead door. Loaded like 6 consoles in the back of a box truck and by the time we got done, I ended up missing out on the ETF dinner

Same here. I'm in the Worthington area (but Hilliard is my hometown) -- where are you?

Man, that ETF museum was fantastic. Overwhelming number of sets in the museum. Color wheels working, CT-100 working, tons of pre-war sets - working and even a few mechanical sets working. Amazing stuff. Had a great time. Then add on top of that the auction, silent auction, swap meet and private sales - I could have come home with a dozen sets!!!! I was a good boy and only picked up three.

Private sale of a practically PERFECT 1959 Zenith
Nice little 7 inch Motorola that I won in the silent auction
Private sale of a Pilot TV-37.

Also scored a nice Admiral record player/AM radio tabletop model, few albums and a ton of tubes.

GREAT trip. Even liked helping out the museum gang set up on Thursday and Friday. Although I tried to avoid the heavy lifting with my back issues. Left that up to Kamakiri and Rodmonster.

It was a great time, and it was fun visiting with everyone that I already know, and meeting my fellow VK'ers, Rodmonster and Bigaudioal, for the first time. I look forward to this meet every year, it's a must attend for me! I came home with a couple sets I'm thrilled about, a metal cabinet RCA CTC 10A from the Silent auction, and a Sharp color portable 15" from 1972, that has tubes in it, from the Flea Market!

RCA CTC-7 "Sanford" model ad.

Tim K;

Posting this 1958 TV Guide ad for your recently acquired RCA "Sanford" CTC-7.
Notice both you and the ETF call it the "Stanford" model. Great consolette. I always admired it when visiting Ed Reitan's apt. in Westwood, Ca.
Great to finally meet you at the ETF convention this year. Very happy you were able to have the winning bid on the color set. I know you really wanted it for your collection.

Sure did, and thanks for the correction on the name. I just called it that because that's what it was labeled.

Sanford, hm? Kinda fits me. Sanford, Fred G.

Great to finally meet you at the ETF convention this year. You and your buddies were a great help thru out the weekend. Very happy you were able to have the winning bid on the color set. I know you really wanted it for your collection.

The name mix up makes me think there should be a "you big dummy!" in there somewhere.
