Hello/new to group
Hi. My name is Doug. I live in Newark, NJ and I collect analog video systems. My collection includes an RCA Videodisc player, two laserdisc players, and six Sony Betamax VCRs. Three of my Betamax machines work and the other three are in various states of disrepair. I am trying to get the non-working machines in working order, so I joined this forum to see what I can learn. The machines that are not working are two Sony SL-5600's and a Sony SL-8200.
One of the 5600s I had recently purchased as being refurbished (but as of this writing, has a tape inside that won't eject or play). And the SL-8200, I replaced the belts, but is still having issues and none of the keys will stay depressed. I love these old machines and would like to see what can be done to bring them back to life! Thanks! |

Good to see ya- there are a few of us that are local to you. And there are vcr threads here, I would imagine Sony's pretty much worked like all the others as far a controlling the transport mechanism.... If not I bet you can still learn to fix it with help from here....
